The cost of living crisis affecting the UK has resulted in rising energy bills and other expenses. To cut costs without compromising innovation, businesses have identified IT systems as an area to target. Richard Nelson, Senior Technical Consultant at Probrand, advises that there are several easy steps that businesses can take to ensure energy efficient IT equipment, which could help save costs and improve eco-credentials. With today’s Government announcement of a cap on energy bills for businesses, Nelson suggests seven ways to keep energy spending to a minimum for powering tech. These include upgrading to LED screens, opting for laptops over desktops, keeping routers switched on, maintaining equipment, and consistently auditing IT systems to decommission any unused equipment.
